I hope all have been enjoying the summer days along with the heat and humidity. It seems that it is flying by we are already at the end of July heading into August. Our efforts to increase our membership appear to be on a slow train, it is disappointing that many retirees are not joining our organization. I know that our membership meetings are getting thin and many current members do not attend the monthly meetings. I know this is a struggle for many chapters even with wonderful speakers who share great information to our members. I continue to attend whatever meetings I can and always have membership applications with me. But we will continue to do whatever we can to grow and are thankful for the Hantz Group for their continued support.
On another note, the State of Michigan has put the Vision contract out for bid and invited Bob or me to be on the Joint Evaluation Committee but neither of us could do it this time. The committee will be meeting in August to either continue with EyeMed or a new provider. We will keep you updated.
