Effective January 1, 2026, there will be a change in Vision Plan for the retirees. The State Vision Plan has been amended to include the following changes:
- In-Network coverage of polycarbonate lenses.
- $0 copay on frames, both In-Network and Out- of- Network.
- $150.00 In-Network allowance for non-medically necessary contact lenses.
- Eligibility for glasses (frame and lens) in lieu of contact lenses, or contact lenses in lieu of glasses, once every 12 months without requiring prescription change.
- Lifetime maximum reimbursement for retirees and spouse up to
- $1,000.00 each for Lasik Surgery. Dependent children are not eligible. The Lasik reimbursement benefit is limited to a single laser surgical encounter per eye. Follow-up care for enhancements or secondary procedures is excluded from coverage for this population.
I met with Bethany Beauchine, Becky Guyski and Keri Rust from Employee Benefits Division and there are no other changes to retiree healthcare this year.
