The contract for the Vision Care Benefits will be over soon. A Joint Evaluation Committee (JEC) is being formed. I will be the SERA representative on that JEC.
At the March Coordinating Council meeting a motion was passed directing the Executive committee to study the possibility of establishing a statewide newsletter. This would not take the place of the Chapter newsletters but may be a way to get more timely information to SERA members. The Executive board is to report back to the CC at the August Meeting with their recommendation.
Lauri Schmidt SERA Coordinator has been attending SERA Chapter meetings to explain the changes in the Benefits for Life Program and informing members of the open enrollment dates. Voluntary Benefits open enrollment dates are:
- New Insurance Carrier for Legal: Met Life
- Legal Open Enrollment: March 19 – April 6
- Supplemental Term Life: May 28 – June 22
- Auto/Home, Discount Plan & Long-Term Care: Enroll at any time
Information packets about the Voluntary Benefits information will be sent to SERA Chapters with the MARCH CC mailings.
