June 2014
By Bob Kopasz
APSA
I was recently informed that effective June 1, 2014 the cost of a trust offered under the SERA-PLUS program will be raised from $495 to $645. That cost is still a pretty good deal for a trust.
Health Care
Listed below are the healthcare costs that was spent by the State and the amount spent by retirees for 2013.
HEALTH CARE SPEND 2013* |
| STATE | RETIREES |
State Health Plan | $284,888,645 | $25,437,931 |
Drugs | $172,392,975 | $23,560,705 |
Totals | $457,281,620 | $48,998,636 |
*Claims only (does not include administrative costs). Also does not include Dental and Vision. HMO costs to the State were over $5 million. |
There has not been any decisions made as yet as to the changes retirees can expect in the State Health Plan.
